        Report on Romania-China Trade in January-October 2019

        According to Romanian statistics, from January to October 2019, the trade volume between Romania and China was US$4.9 billion, with a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%. China was Romania's 8th largest trade partner, and the second largest trade partner outside the EU (after Turkey). Romania’s import volume from China reached US$4.33 billion, with a decrease of 1.4% year on year. China was the fifth largest import source country of Romania (the top 4 import source countries were Germany, Italy, Hungary, and Poland). Romania mainly imported mechanical and electrical products and audio equipment, nuclear reactors and boilers, optical equipment, etc. from China. Romania's export to China was US$570 million, with a year-on-year decrease of 11.3%. China was Romania's 21st largest export destination, mainly exporting mechanical and electrical products and audio equipment, wood products, nuclear reactors and boilers, and optical equipment.

        According to Chinese statistics, from January to October 2019, China-Romania trade volume was US$5.67 billion, with an increase of 1.1% year on year. Romania ranked as China’s 70th largest trade partner. Of the total amount, China’s export to Romania was US$3.8 billion, up 0.3% year on year, and Romania was China’s 57th largest export destination, mainly exporting mechanical and electrical products, nuclear reactor, boilers, audio equipment and optical equipment. China’s import from Romania was US$1.88 billion, up 2.7% year on year, and Romania was China’s 71st largest import source country, mainly importing mechanical and electrical products, audio equipment, nuclear reactor, boilers, optical equipment, vehicles and components, and wood products.
