Chinahighly appreciates Mr. Michael Aguinaldo, Chairperson of the Commission onAudit of the Republic of the Philippines, and his team for their dedication andprofessionalism during their service as external auditor, and thanks them fortheir efforts in auditing the financial situation of UNIDO and in improving itsinternal management. At the same time, China welcomes Mr. Aleksei Kudrin,Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, to serve as thenext external auditor, and will support his work together with other MemberStates.
China has noted that Stage I of the project“Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) in RoomAir-conditioner (RAC) Sector in China” is reviewed in the report, with bothproblems in project execution and recommendationsfor improvement identified. China is of the view that the report reflects theimplementation of this project in a relatively objective manner, and that therecommendations are pragmatic and feasible. China supports UNIDO andrelevant parties in carefully studying and implementing these recommendations,and enhancing project supervision and management, for smooth projectimplementation.
