China isof the view that under the current exceptionalcircumstances, UNIDO’s mandate on technical cooperation will play an essentialrole in strengthening our response to the pandemic and in restoring theeconomy. China calls upon Member States to timely fulfil their dueresponsibilities by paying their assessed contributions on time and in full, inorder to ensure that the Secretariat has adequate financial resources to fullydischarge its functions and that various work of the Organisation can proceedsmoothly. All parties should fully leverage the advantage of UNIDO, focus onexploring diverse forms of cooperation, such as triangular cooperation, with theaim of promoting industrial development andcooperation on the platform of UNIDO.
China appreciates the Secretariat for itsefforts in cost-saving and enhancing efficiency, and hopes that it will easeits financial constraints by exploring multiple means, such as continuouslyimproving internal coordination, adopting information technology, and improving project management practices.
